The next morning we went to Keystone, SD to visit Mt. Rushmore. (They may not look like it, but the kids really were thrilled.)
Our next stop was the Crazy Horse Memorial. That is going to be an amazing monument. It is ginormous! They have been carving it since 1939. My favorite quote at the Native American Museum there was by Chief Henry Standing Bear, in his invitation to Korczak (the sculptor) to carve the Crazy Horse Memorial: My fellow chiefs and I would like the white man to know the red man has heroes, too."
At the hotel's swimming pool in Cody, WY. That was a hairy day. It was nice to unwind after a long day in the van. The next morning (Saturday) we were getting ready to leave the hotel and Zane barfed all over the lobby floor. Ewan came running to me, "Zane spit all over the floor!" Poor Zane. He just doesn't travel well. He is our 'home body'. In fact, just 30 minutes after we left the house on Wednesday he said, "When do we go back to our house?"
Saturday, June 13th- YELLOWSTONE!After some ginger ale and saltine crackers, Zane had fallen asleep in the van on the way. He was feeling much, much better. Poor little guy!
The boys were thrilled to see 3 feet of snow. This was more snow that we saw all winter in PA.

There is a lot of other smaller geysers around Old Faithful. The rain stopped, so we walked around for about an hour.

My parents pulled out their rain gear at Yellowstone Falls. Abric matched.
On the way out of park on Monday, we got stuck behind a herd of about 50 buffalo. It took us almost 3 hours to travel 4 miles. The time actually went by quickly and it was fun to be so close to them.
