Sometimes, boys = trouble

Not only did my parents have to survive with 3 boys in the house, they now have to survive with 3 grandsons in their house. What do they have to survive? Well, let me tell you:
Ewan grabbed a purple crayon, looked at Pappy, looked at the wall, and then just started coloring all over the wall. He is not too happy because I made him wash the crayon off of the wall.
Also, my dad had to replace the bathroom doorknob because Harrison broke it. Truthfully, the doorknob was old, but it took Harrison to finish it off.
Now, for the grand finale.......

This morning as we were getting in the van to go to church, I heard my mom shriek when she looked at the windshield. The entire driver's side was cracked. We had no idea what caused the crack: a rock? a baseball bat? Harrison said, "Maybe it was a big stick?" I told my mom that she should call the police to report it, even though they will never catch the person. We puzzled over it all the way to church and we puzzled over it again on our way home from church. Just before we got home, Harrison made a confession, "Grandma, I was throwing a big stick over the fence yesterday and it hit your van and broke it." My mom and I froze. Apparently it was a big stick that had caused the crack.
My mom praised Harrison for having the courage to tell the truth, and then we looked at each other and tried not to laugh. Harrison had punished himself more than either of us could because we were sure that his guilt had been eating at him all through church (and even all night long.)
