Isla peed her pants today.
On me.
While sitting on my lap.
Which basically means that Isla peed my pants today. I have a slight feeling that she did it on purpose. But she had just told me that she loved me. "I love you, Mommy" she said.
Maybe she was just feeling very relaxed and comfortable. Yes, let's say that.
She was comfortable.

Hoping?
Just before Abric broke his collarbone, he had been doing really well on the potty. So well, in fact, that I had taken him to pick out his own package of big boy underwear. I made sure to get the 2T-3T, but these knickers are ginormous!
Seriously? If I hadn't have rolled them, they would be useless. They are the same brand I had bought before for Ewan, but these seem like twice the size.
Seriously? If I hadn't have rolled them, they would be useless. They are the same brand I had bought before for Ewan, but these seem like twice the size. They don't even do justice to the term tightie whities.
Anyway, I digress.
Abric had been doing really well at going to the potty, until the collar bone incident. Now, I can't lift him onto the potty, unless I hold him by his hips, which is really awkward. It hurts him to climb onto the potty.
Until today.
I was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I hadn't seen Abric for a while, so I was beginning to wonder where he had wandered.
Then I heard, "Owie. Owie. Owie." coming from the bathroom.
I opened the door to find Abric, pant-and-diaper-less, sitting on top of the potty to go pee.
I was speechless,
so of course I had to run and text Andy immediately.
Then I praised Abric and gave him a lollipop for his initiative, despite the pain.
He is such a big boy!
I'm not planning on him being potty-trained right away,
but here's to hoping!

Ewan
This kid never ceases to amaze me. Yesterday he woke up from his nap, crying, and said, "I have to go potty!" This came out of nowhere. I had given up trying to potty-train him awhile ago because Harrison and Zane were both a solid 3 before they showed any interest whatsoever.

He went on the potty 5 times that night and had zero accidents. We put him in a diaper at bedtime, but he woke up dry and went right to the potty. He has had zero accidents today as well. Woo-Hoo! I am knocking on wood and hoping that this lasts!
We went to Target while Zane was in pre-school so he could pick out his own underwear.
Ewan: "I want pung poo"
Me: "You need to go poo?"
Ewan: "No, I want pung poo panda"
Me: "Oh....Kung Fu Panda."
Luckily, there was one package left!
Here he is getting ready to go play in the snow tonight. This snowsuit is a tad too small, but it worked for a quickie trip outside. He was trying to quote from "A Christmas Story", but he got it a little backwards. I just adore his squeaky little voice.Wednesday, April 30, 2008
Unbelievable
Ewan: Mommy. Poop.
Me: Ewan, did you go poop.
Ewan: Poop.
(pause)
Ewan: Zane's poop.
Me: No, Ewan's poop.
Ewan: No, Zane's poop.
Sorry for the overabundance of the "p" word, but it has pretty much been a major part of his vocabulary lately. I just thought it was a crack-up that he was trying to blame his dirty diaper on Zane. Harrison and Zane thought it was pretty funny, too. They laughed so hard on the way home that I thought Zane was going to gag.
So, anyway, I'm not holding my breath with the whole potty-training thing (but I am hoping!)
