Digital Scrapbooking

So, I'm still trying to decide if I want to switch over to digital scrapbooking. It seems like each page is taking a long time, but I'm still trying to navigate my way through PhotoShop. Most of my "lessons" have been coming from the show Scrapbook Memories, either on BYU-TV or on the local PBS station. I'm a visual learner, so watching someone do it is helping me learn. I think there are both pros and cons for digital vs. paper scrapbooking. Either way, it is fun to play with the pics of my kids. If anyone knows of any other good tutorial websites on photoshop, I'd love for you to share!

Another one

Maybe I am addicted. I am surprised at how fast I am able to do these...although they aren't printed or anything. I think what I might start doing is working on a page digitally in order to get ideas on how to make it physically. I think I might actually save time by doing it this way, instead of just staring at the pictures and paper for an hour, trying to make a decision!

It's a Digital World

Sooooo, I was wasting time when I should have been folding my laundry and I found this free digital scrapbooking website via my friends Jess and Angie. If you want to check out the site, click here.
I came up with this page. Not sure how much I like it, but then do you ever like your "first" of anything? Anyway, it was fun and pretty fast. I still like the feel of paper, etc, when I scrapbook, so I don't know if I am converted yet. It is convenient to have things digital, though.

Here is my second rendition of the first page. I think I like it a little bit better....it is more my style: more neutral and not too loud. I know, probably boring, but I think I like it better.

p.s. You probably already noticed, but this is the website that I got the textured paper for my blog's new background. Again, just experimenting. Now, I'm off to do laundry while Zane watches High School Musical.

p.p.s 8PM UPDATE. So I was not doing much today, being lazy, when the doorbell rang at 5PM and it was the sisters! I totally forgot that I had signed up to have them for dinner. AAAAAHHHH!!! They were very nice about it. I whipped out some frozen noodle dish that cooked in a pan in 10 minutes. I had them help my cut up a salad and voila! dinner was ready. It serves me right for doing NOTHING today!

Scrapbook Idea

Lately I have been organizing the office in our basement into a scrapbook room for myself. As I was searching on-line for organizational ideas, I came across this tiny little album. I thought it was adorable and wanted to share the information! This particular idea is for a "day you were born" album. If you want to see the instructions for it, click here

Just to give you an idea on how tiny these are, you cut a 12x12 piece of cardstock into four 3 x 12 inch strips. (Enough to make four albums

I thought it would be fun to make one for each of my boys. I know they love to hear about the story when they were born. This album looks so quick and easy that I think it will be very low-stress, which is exactly what I need right now.
